Phone or Text Logs
We do not read private phone logs or text messages. But if AVG AntiVirus finds that a message may contain suspicious code, we send the message to our servers for a thorough machine analysis in order to protect you better. If the SMS Shield feature is active and you receive any URL through Short Messaging Service, we send that URL (and only that URL, without any content of the message or any other information related to the message, to its sender or to you) to our server. If the URL is a known threat, we display an alert warning you not to open the link received.
Location
When activated by you, our Anti-Theft feature uses location tracking to help you find your lost or stolen device.
User Files and Other Information
If AVG AntiVirus cannot determine if a file is safe, it sends the suspicious file to our servers for a thorough analysis in order to protect you better. If the AppInfo feature is active, it collects information about all apps on your device, including installs, uninstalls, updates, usage and resource consumption. We use this information to identify abnormal behavior and provide features and promotions that are relevant to you.
