How to cancel your AVG subscription

When you purchase an AVG subscription (formally known as “Continuing Protection Service”), it will continue until it is canceled. You will be billed again 15 days prior to the start of the next subscription period. You will receive a notification email about the upcoming automatic extension 45 days prior to the start of the next subscription period. The automatic extension can be disabled up to 16 days prior to the start of the next subscription period.

Canceling your subscription will not refund your current AVG subscription, and you will be able to continue using AVG until your current subscription period expires. You will also be able to extend your subscription when you start receiving the expiration notifications, typically 45 days before expiration.

The automatic extension can be cancelled via your AVG MyAccount.

 
 
 

How to cancel your subscription via AVG MyAccount

Please note, that you may need to set up a new AVG MyAccount even though you are receiving emails from us. The AVG MyAccount is an optional service and is not created automatically for all customers.

 

To cancel your subscription from AVG MyAccount, please follow these steps:

  1. Visit the AVG MyAccount login page and use your email address and password to log in.

    Tip: If you receive a message that your email address is not in our database, please follow the article Create an AVG MyAccount and please create your account with the email that you used when you originally purchased your AVG product.
     
  2. Once logged into the AVG MyAccount, click My Subscriptions at the top of the page.
  3. Click the arrow button next to your product to expand the product description, and then
  4. Click Cancel Subscription.
  5. Click Cancel Subscriptionin the pop-up to confirm the action.
  6. The extension for the next period will be cancelled and you will not be billed further.

Request a refund for an automatically extended subscription

If your subscription was automatically extended, but you do not wish to continue using the product, you may request a refund. Please note that if we provide a refund, you will no longer be able to use the paid features of your subscription.


To request a refund please do the following:

  1. Visit the AVG Sales Support page at AVG Support Sales.
  2. Click Request a refund.
  3. Follow the instructions and fill in the form to submit the refund request.
