You will be notified about your license expiration:
- Home Security products:
An expiration dialogue will be displayed 30 days prior to the license expiration. After the license has expired the computer is no longer protected. You can simply renew your AVG License Number by clicking on the Renew now button.
- Business Security products:
The AVG icon will turn red one week prior to the license expiration. After the license has expired for a period of sixty days, AVG software will continue to operate fully. However, at each start-up, a pop-up window will be displayed to notify that the license has expired. Anytime during this period you can renew your AVG License Number and reactivate your AVG program.
At the end of the license period all registered AVG users are eligible for discounted license renewal for the next period. For more information, please contact our Customer Services Team.
- In AVG Technologies online shop:
Please enter your AVG License Number into the License Number field in the Renewal and Upgrade Center. Then select Renew my current product only and process your renewal. For details on offered payment options please visit FAQ 14. - Directly from AVG Authorized Resellers, Distributors and Partners.
You may check your current AVG license expiration date in your AVG (look at the bottom left corner of the AVG window).
If you have any questions regarding your license renewal, please contact AVG Customer Services. Do not forget to include your name, e-mail address and your AVG License Number.
Yes, it is possible to order AVG Installation Disc with your AVG License renewal.
If you do not want to purchase the AVG Installation Disc, you can easily remove it from your shopping cart.
Click on the bin icon on the installation disc line, update your cart and the AVG Installation Disc will be removed from your order.
Yes, we recommend that you purchase your AVG license renewal in good time, at least one month prior to your current license expiration.
Please note that filling in the Returning Customer / Reseller information is not obligatory. When purchasing a license renewal, simply fill in the New Customer purchase form that is situated below the Returning Customer / Reseller field.
Even if you enter your personal data as a new customer, your renewal order will be linked with your originally purchased AVG product.
Please follow the steps below to activate your AVG 8.5 by entering your newly purchased AVG License Number:
- Run AVG 8.5 by clicking on the AVG icon on your desktop or in your system tray bar.
- From the Help drop-down menu select Reactivate.
- Enter your newly purchased AVG License Number in the License Number field and click on Activate.
To enter the AVG License Number correctly, we recommend that you use the Copy & Paste method.
If you purchased your AVG License Renewal through an Authorized AVG Distributor, or Partner, you will have received a Renewal Key.
Please, go to this website and enter:
- your renewal key
- your current AVG License Number
- your registered e-mail address
A new AVG License Number will be sent to your e-mail address. Then you will simply activate your AVG with the newly supplied License Number.
Customers who are eligible for the non-profit discount receive the same discount at the license renewal.
To apply for the discount, it is necessary to fill out the Discount Application Form that is available in the EDU/Charity/Government section on our website.
The discount will be calculated from the listed price of the product at the time of the renewal.
You can renew and upgrade your product to another product in one step:
- For licenses with less than 200 users at the Upgrade Center:
- Insert your AVG License Number into the license number field. To avoid any mistakes, please use the copy&paste method.
- Press the Renew or upgrade my AVG button.
- On the next page follow the I'm interested, show me more information link located in the lower part of the page.
- Please select the number of years you wish purchase the renewal and upgrade for.
- Press the Upgrade now! button and process the upgrade.
- For licenses with more than 200 users or any special enquiries, kindly contact your AVG Authorized Reseller. You may also complete the on-line form to contact AVG Customer Services and have your renewal and upgrade processed off-line by AVG Technologies.
