AVG Technologies Hires Security Veteran to Lead Product Strategy

AMSTERDAM, May 26, 2010 – AVG Technologies, developers of the world’s most popular free anti-virus software, today announced it has added Don MacLennan, a 23-year veteran of the software industry, to the position of Senior Vice President, Product Management. MacLennan is tasked with defining product strategy and delivering the product development roadmap for AVG. He will work from AVG’s offices in Prague, Czech Republic.

Prior to joining AVG, MacLennan held leadership roles in product development and field operations at publicly traded companies including RSA the Security Division of EMC, SAP, Calico Commerce, Pure Atria and CA. In 2006, he was named a “Pro to Know” by Supply and Demand Chain Executive magazine. He is a frequent speaker on best practices at industry forums such as ISACA, The Conference Board, Sourcing Interests Group and SAPPHIRE. MacLennan has also written on the topic of regulatory compliance and security in the supply chain for SAP Insider magazine.
