AVG Data Safe is a tool availabe in AVG 2014 that allows you to create a secure, encrypted and password-protected storage on your computer. The storage (Data Safe) can be accessed as a standard disk drive, and even copied to another computer with AVG 2014. The Data Safe always requires password to be opened. Without the password, it is not possible to access the contents of the Data Safe, and it cannot be retrieved in any way.

The contents of AVG Data Safe are protected using AES 256-bit encryption.

The available options depend on your version of AVG:

  • AVG Internet Security and AVG Premium Security
You can create multiple Data Safes and change their size as needed.
  • AVG AntiVirus
You can create one Data Safe with a fixed size.
  • AVG Free
You can access files in a Data Safe crated on another computer.
