In case you are not able to connect to some or all on-line games in Battlefield 3, or are getting disconnected during an on-line game, do the following:
- Open AVG program.
- In the top menu click Tools, and then click Firewall settings.

Click System services, and then click Manage user system rules.
Note: You may need to click Profiles, and then expand (click on the + sign) next to the profile name in bold. - Click Add, and then fill in the Rule detail name, e.g. "Battlefield 3 - TCP".

Configure the rule by clicking the underlined words, so that it contains:
protocol TCP
direction Both ways
local port(s) 80, 443, 9988, 20000-20100, 22990, 17502, 42127
remote port(s) 80, 443, 9988, 20000-20100, 22990, 17502, 42127
remote address(es) All Networks
Allow for all - Click OK to return to the screen User-defined system tools.
- Click Add, and then fill in the Rule detail name, e.g. "Battlefield 3 - UDP".

Configure the rule by clicking the underlined words, so that it contains:
protocol UDP
direction Both ways
local port(s) 3659, 14000-14016, 22990-23006, 25200-25300
remote port(s) 3659, 14000-14016, 22990-23006, 25200-25300
remote address(es) All Networks
Allow for all - Click OK in all opened windows to save the new rules, and then run Battlefield 3 to verify the on-line connectivity.
