AVG Excludes on MS Exchange Server

It is recommended to exclude the following folders from AVG scanning (on the server where AVG for MS Exchange is installed) :

  • C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\Mailroot
  • C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\CONNDATA
  • C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\MDBDATA
  • C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\MTADATA
  • C:\Program Files\Exchsrvr\SCHEMA

Please exclude the above-mentioned folders from AVG Resident Shield:

  1. Open the AVG program.
  2. Click the Anti-Virus component, and then click Manage exceptions.
  3. Add the files to be excluded, and then click OK

and also from the scheduled AVG test that is run on the server:

  1. Open the AVG program.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Advanced settings.
  3. On the left pane, expand Schedules, and then click Scheduled scan.
  4. Enable the Enable this task if needed to allow editing.
  5. Click the What to scan tab, and then click Scan specific files or folders.
  6. Exclude the above-mentioned folders.

Also bear in mind that if you want to run manually-launched specific scan, it is necessary to exclude the above-mentioned folders:

  1. Open the AVG program.
  2. On the left side of the window, click Scan options.
  3. Under Scan specific files or folders, click the blue Change scan settings link.
  4. To define the scanned or excluded folders, click Next.
