AVG Rescue CD includes the AVG application and also other useful tools available directly from the user interface:
- Midnight Commander – file manager
- Windows Registry editor – tool for editing of registry from Windows OS installed on the computer
- Ping – basic network diagnostic
- TestDisk – powerfull data recovery tool. Should be used by advanced users only.
- PhotoRec – tool for recovery of deleted files
- Links – text only internet browser
Apart from these tools, the AVG Rescue CD also offers all common Linux commands and features (e.g. configured OpenSSH SSH daemon, vi text editor, ntfsprogs utilities etc.)
Additionally, Memtest86+ is also available. It can be started instead of the AVG Rescue CD in the boot menu (by selecting the Memtest86+ option). This will then start memory diagnostic.
