You will need to enable Javascript in your Internet browser to get any further instructions on using the AVG Share badges.
- Copy & paste the HTML badge code generated [REPLACEMENT TEXT].
- Login to your blog at https://wordpress.com/login.
- Once logged in, select the 'Appearance' menu item from the column on the left.
- Now select the 'Widgets' option from the submenu that appears.
- From the central body, drag the 'Text' Widget to the right hand hand column [REPLACEMENT TEXT]. Note that you may already have one or more Text Widgets in the right hand column, which is OK, as you can have multiple Text Widgets on Wordpress.
- Ignore the 'Title' field in the Text Widget area that appears, and into the large box underneath, copy and paste the code from the box above.
- Click the 'Save' button underneath the text area where you have pasted the code.
- Login to your blog as normal. The URL to login is specific to your blog and may have been customised, however, it is usually at 'http://yourwordpressblog.com/wp-login.php/', where 'http://yourwordpress.com'.com; is to be replaced by the normal URL for your blog site.

Note that you can only use AVG Social Media badges on paid-for TypePad blogs that are subscribed to either the 'Unlimited' or 'Business Class' plans. TypePad do not allow any blog customisation on either the Free or the 'Plus' plans. ...so only read on if you are paying for one of the higher grade TypePad subscriptions.
- Login to your TypePad blog at https://www.typepad.com/secure/services/signin.
- From the 'Manage My Blog' menu box, select 'Design'.
- On the Design page, from the left hand column, select the 'Custom Sidebar' option.
*If you don't see the 'Custom Sidebar' option in the left hand column under 'Banner' then your TypePad subscription level is not high enough and you will need to upgrade your account.
- Copy the AVG badge code from the box above and paste it into the TypePad Custom Sidebar box, [REPLACEMENT TEXT]. As TypePad only allows one Custom Sidebar with all of your blog sidebar features edited in the same area, and any change history lost once you save a new version, it is a good idea to take a copy of any existing code in this box before you add to or amend it.
- Click the 'Save Changes' button and you are finished.
- Login to your Blogger account using your Google / Gmail credentials at http://www.blogger.com.
- If you haven't yet upgraded your Blogspot/Blogger account to use Google / Gmail credentials yet, then before you can share your support for AVG you will need to upgrade to the newer version of the Google Blogger authentication system, by clicking here.
- Once you are logged in, select the 'Layout' tab from the options at the top of the page.
- [REPLACEMENT TEXT] click 'Add a Gadget'.
- From the initial 'Basics' Gadget list shown, select the HTML/JavaScript Gadget.
- Ignore the 'Title' entry field offered and simply copy and paste the AVG badge code from the box above into the area marked 'Content', before clicking the 'Save' button.
- If you have sufficient administrative rights to add a Custom Block to your Drupal installation, then create a Custom Block [REPLACEMENT TEXT] on the Block configuration page (Drupal Administration Menu->Site Building->Blocks->List).
- When you Edit the Block, underneath the Block body content editing area, select the link to 'Disable rich-text' or 'Switch to plain text editor', one of which should be available, depending on your Drupal installation.
- Now select the 'Input Format' link, and ensure that 'Filtered HTML' is NOT selected. Any other option should work, e.g. 'Full HTML', 'PHP Code' etc. - again, with options varying depending on your installation.
- Finally, you should copy and paste the code above into the Block text editing area, save your block, and position it.
If you cannot add custom Blocks to your Drupal installation, then you will need to add the AVG badge code directly to the each relevant page, as follows:
- Create the new content or edit the page/content where you would like to show your AVG support.
- Underneath the main body content editing area, select the link to 'Disable rich-text' or 'Switch to plain text editor', one of which should be available, depending on your Drupal installation.
- Now select the 'Input Format' link, and ensure that 'Filtered HTML' is NOT selected. Any other option should work, e.g. 'Full HTML', 'PHP Code' etc. - again, with options varying depending on your installation.
- Finally, you should copy and paste the code above into the body area, [REPLACEMENT TEXT], and save your edits.
Whether adding a Block or page/other content, if you have insufficient rights awarded to you by your Drupal administrator to be able to access the HTML/Plain Text editor, or to allow Full/unfiltered HTML editing, then you may still be able to use the 'Standard' positioned badges only, by selecting them from the Right Hand Column above and saving them to your local computer, then uploading them to your Drupal Block or Page/Content as standard images, and then by finally hyperlinking them to the same URL targets as those badges above.
Lets face it: there are thousands of different commercial, open-source and bespoke content management systems, selections of blog-site software and website development technologies out there.
At AVG we think we've covered off the most common ones in our selection above, but if you're using one that isn't listed, that doesn't mean you can't use the AVG badge you've created to both show your support for AVG and to help the world follow us on Twitter or become our friend on Facebook.
As long as your software has the facility to edit some amount of the HTML code in your site then, chances are, you can simply add the code above [REPLACEMENT TEXT], or inside any editable widget, gadget, block or sidebar area that your system provides - and you too can bring AVG to your audience!
If you need any help getting the AVG badges onto your site, please do email badges@avg.com and we'll try our best to help.
- Copy & paste the HTML code generated into the HTML signature editor of your email or newsletter software.
- Copy [REPLACEMENT TEXT] from the column on the right to your email signature:
- The easiest way to do this, if your Internet browser and email software both allow it, is to drag the badge directly into your email signature field. If this works for you then great - job done!
If you need to copy a badge without the ability to drag it:
- Use your mouse to Right-Click [Microsoft Windows] or Control-Click [Apple Mac] on a badge to bring up your Internet browser's context-menu.
- From the context menu, select 'Copy' - if you have that option - then paste the badge directly into your email signature.
- If you don't have a specific 'Copy' option, then you will need to first use 'Copy Image' to paste the badge image into your signature, then for the same badge, use whichever context-menu option you have from 'Copy Link Location', 'Copy Link' or 'Copy Target' to get the target URL for the badge... then create a hyperlink from the badge image in your signature using the 'target' link you just copied.
IMPORTANT: Copying a badge to email software that does not allow direct HTML editing of your signature has varying success depending on your Internet browser, operating system and email client. Make sure you send yourself an email to test that the badges work, before you email anyone else!
