Hello, My AVG is not working properly so I planned to uninstall followed by a reinstall. There is an unknown error occurring in which upon opening AVG it says: "There are no active components". There is no "Fix" option to correct this issue. When trying to uninstall the program an error occurs during the middle of uninstallation stating: "Service 'AVG Firewall' (AVGfws) could not be stopped. Verify that you have sufficient privileges to stop system services." I downloaded the AVG Reset ...

Thanks for the response Big Al 43. Been there ,done that. I used the uninstaller & install files you linked me to. No go. 2012 still wants to reboot constantly due to "digitally unsigned driver" AVG filter driver. The only cure (workaround) I've found is to F8 into advanced boot options & disable the driver checker. BUT you have to do it every time you start your machine. Just not feaseable. Also tried cmd: bcdedit to disable integrity checker. Also no go. Oh well, I'll wait for the program update ...

No 2012 anymore.. It seems that the standard answer for most avg 2012 problems is to update to 2013. I've been using avg (paid) for several years & have never had any issues w/it besides a rare false positive. Been using 2013 since release & have seen my system speed has degraded noticeably. Uninstalled & tried to install 2012 to no avail. Biggest problem is the unsigned driver (AVG filter driver) issue. Re-installed 2013. I'm hoping the performance issue will be addressed in an upcoming update ...
