Recommended System Requirements for AVG 8.5:  

AVG Anti-Virus, AVG Anti-Virus plus Firewall and AVG Anti-Virus Network Edition:

• Intel Pentium 300 MHz, 256 MB RAM, 30 MB free hard drive space (for the installation).

AVG Identity Protection

• Windows XP: Intel Pentium 600 MHz, 256 MB RAM available, 50 MB free hard drive space (for the installation).
• Windows Vista: Vista capable processor, 1 GB RAM available, 50 MB free hard drive space (for the installation).

AVG Anti-Virus SBS Edition, AVG File Server Edition and AVG Email Server Edition

• Intel Pentium 600 MHz, 256 MB RAM available, 70 MB free hard drive space (for the installation).

AVG Internet Security, AVG Internet Security Network Edition and AVG Internet Security SBS Edition:

• Intel Pentium 1,2 GHz, 256 MB RAM, 80 MB free hard drive space (for the installation).

Note that AVG 8.5 is not compatible with the following operating systems:

• MS Windows 98 / ME / NT / NT Server 4.0

these platforms will be supported by AVG 7.5 only till the end of the year 2008 but AVG Technologies reserves the right to discontinue the support provided that AVG Technologies informs thereof 15 days prior to the effective date on its website.

AVG software is not compatible with Macintosh operating systems at the moment. Please refer to the compatibility chart.

AVG products are fully compatible with Windows 64-bit version operating systems. AVG Identity Protection is compatible with Windows Vista 64-bit only.

Generally, not only by our company, the use of more than one security solution under the same operating system is not recommended because of possible conflict in their main parts.
Usually the resident shield functionality of the products may conflict with each other, resulting in unpredictable behavior in your computer and impairing response to a potential virus threat.

Be sure to uninstall or disable all other antivirus or firewall programs on your computer prior to using a new antivirus/firewall program.

Yes we do. If you are interested in all in one protection against all Internet threats for your computer(s) or network environment, we recommend that you select AVG Internet Security (for your up to 10 computers) or AVG Internet Security Network Edition (for your computers and file servers).

Both of these editions include antivirus, firewall, anti-spyware, anti-rootkit, anti-spam, HTTP scanning, AVG Active Surf-Shield, and AVG Search-Shield and System Tools (for advanced operating system monitoring and management). AVG Internet Security also inlcludes AVG Identity Protection.

With the AVG Internet Security Network Edition you will obtain two versions of Remote Administration tool (AVG Admin and Admin Lite) and protection for your network including your file server(s). 

Yes, you can purchase AVG Installation Disc together or as an addition to your AVG software. AVG Installation Disc is useful for installation and backup. If you have already purchased AVG product in an electronic version and would like to have it on a disc, please contact AVG Customer Services for further information.

All AVG Editions are available with no obligation for a trial period of 30 days.

During the evaluation period, you will be able to test the product's full functionality, including all of the features and capabilities of AVG software. In addition, you will have access to the AVG Technical Support team for the duration of your Trial license (when requesting technical support, be sure to always include your AVG License Number in the body of your message).

AVG Identity Protection is an anti-malware product that will protect your computer from all kinds of Malware like Spyware, Bots, Identity Theft by using behavioral technologies and provide zero day protection for new viruses. As malware gets sophisticated and comes in as normal programs and open your PC up for identity theft when they execute to the remote attacker, Identity Protection protects you from these new execution based malware. It is a complimentary product to Anti-Virus products.

Anti-Virus products will protect your computer from file based and known viruses using signature mechanism. Most of them are scan based and will scan your computer for any known threats coming to your computer.

We strongly recommend you have both the products installed, in order to have complete protection for your PC.
