AVG Internet Security software available to Digiweb customers

Cost-effective subscription model allows users to pay in cheaper monthly installments

UK, London, September 16, 2009 - Global internet security provider AVG Technologies has announced that its market-leading Internet Security 8.5 software is now available on a monthly subscription basis to customers of Internet access provider, Digiweb, as part of a deal arranged by Fort Technologies.

The agreement allows Digiweb customers to download the full AVG Internet Security 8.5 package through the company’s home page. Users are able to pay a reduced charge for the software on a monthly basis, as an alternative to the standard yearly fee. Digiweb customers will receive up-to-the-minute protection against the latest online security risks, in addition to full product support from AVG’s customer services team.

As part of the deal, the reduced charges are automatically added to Digiweb customers’ monthly bills, providing a convenient and cost-effective means of securing their computers from online threats. Additional savings can be made by customers who order multiple licenses for the software.

Mike Foreman, Managing Director for AVG in the UK, commented on the deal: "Our partnership with Fort Technologies and Digiweb provides customers with an easy and affordable means of ensuring they are fully protected from online threats. We believe everybody should have access to the tools needed for a secure Internet surfing experience, and AVG welcomes deals like this that can help achieve this."

Noel O’Grady, Marketing and Sales Director, Fort Technologies added: "We’re pleased to be working with Digiweb to help offer its customers a safer online experience with AVG’s market-leading security software. By seamlessly integrating subscription charges into customers’ monthly bills, it is now easier than ever for users to ensure they are protected."

Alan Millett, CTO, Digiweb, said, "We anticipate high demand for AVG's software as malware and spam levels continue to escalate, and Irish web users seek improved online protection. We will offer this to our growing base of Digiweb customers and the wider population of 1.2m broadband users throughout Ireland. This comprehensive security package allows home and business users to be more productive online, and ensures the time and expense of dealing with an infected PC can be avoided."
