AVG Strengthens UK Presence

New appointments fortify expansion in the UK

UK, London (10 September, 2009) – The UK’s number one Internet security provider, AVG Technologies, has announced that it is fortifying its position in the UK with the expansion of its reseller team. The move is a result of the company’s success in the UK, with AVG rising to become the leading brand in the UK with a 24% share of the security software market .

Based at AVG’s recently-opened UK headquarters in Newark, Nottinghamshire, the enhanced reseller team, including five new members, will be responsible for forming new contacts in the IT channel sector, as well as supporting the company’s existing relationships with its IT reseller partners. The latest move brings the total number of AVG employees based at the site to 60.

The latest appointments coincide with a new promotional initiative targeted at AVG’s small business customers. After detecting a rise in the number of SMB’s falling victim to intrusion attempts by online criminals, AVG is now offering firms three years’ for the price of two on all business products.
