Fixes & Improvements

  • Console: New option of sending a test e-mail was added into advanced configuration of SMTP server within Alert Manager component.
  • Console: "Server plug-in statistic data" dialog was modified to be able to display new extended statistics of Exchange server and SharePoint server plug-ins.
  • Console: Implemented new AVG Admin Update Assistant that helps user to easily update all Remote Admin applications.
  • Console: Startup page added into Admin Console providing information on the database and connected stations.
  • Console: Rootkit exceptions can be added from synchronized scan log in Admin Console.
  • Console: Quick help panel was removed; its content can be found in the standard help file.
  • Console: Version panel was removed; its content can be found on the new startup page in console.

  • Documentation: New help files for AVG Remote Administration 2012.
  • Server: More efficient storing of binary objects in the database. Decreased database size.
  • General: In Admin Console, a new option was implemented allowing to remotely delete update files cached by Admin Server.
  • General: Admin Server now uses more efficient method of storing large binary data, and the database size significantly decreased.
  • Network Installer: New method of remote installation using WMI technology, it replaces the former method using RPC and AVG Agent helper process.
  • Network Installer: AVG Toolbar dialog was removed from the installation run via script generated by Network Installer Wizard.
  • Network Installer: Installation runs correctly even with other security software already installed.
  • Network Installer: Fixed issue with downloading the latest installation packages.
  • Network Installer: AVG Network Installer Wizard does not support AVG Security Toolbar installation any longer.
  • RA Setup: Fixed problem with incorrect system resources allocation.
  • Server: Managed update service was removed, and so was the notification on update failure.
  • Server: Show warning in Admin Server Settings dialog if invalid SMTP login/password is used.
  • Server: Network installer and graphic reports of e-mails now properly display time in specific time zones.
  • Server: Optimized synchronization of Firewall settings. Better performance.
  • General: Easy upgrade from AVG Remote Administration 2011, 9.0 and 8.5.
  • General: Support of both AVG 2011 and AVG 2012 stations. Remotely launched upgrade of AVG 2011 stations to new version AVG 2012. Option to reinstall stations older with version.
