AVG is unable to update

Under specific circumstances, you can encounter the following situation after failed AVG update:

  • AVG is reporting outdated virus base.
  • When you click "Update now" in AVG, the update fails.

To fix this situation:

  1. Download the AVG_RegFix.exe file.
  2. Run the file and confirm the EULA agreement. A confirmation text will be displayed.
  3. Run AVG and click "Update now".
