This kind of DataCenter is recommended for most of the standard networks. The simple installation and no need of any advanced settings are the main advantages of this solution.
AVG TCP Server is an application providing the AVG DataCenter operations. It contains an integrated SQL database engine, also it can be connected into any of standard SQL servers placed on the same station or at least in the same LAN.
All clients use the standard http on TCP protocol for the DataCenter communication. All the communication components are already integrated in the basic AVG installation. Clients can be connected to the DataCenter through the proxy server in the WAN area, etc. The default path for the AVG TCP Server program files is C:\Program Files\Grisoft\AVG TCP Server.
AVG workstations can be connected to the DataCenter using the simple URL consisting of DataCenter host’s name (or IP address) and of the communication port number (4156 is the default port number).
http://<address>[:port]
Here is an example:
http://127.0.0.1:4156 or http://localhost:4156
