Reinstalling, uninstalling or repairing installation of AVG 2012

To uninstall or perform a repair installation of AVG 2012, please proceed according to step 1 (recommended) or step 2. Please note that Internet connection is required for this process to work properly.

1. • Windows Vista/7
   • Windows XP
   • Go to Start -> Control Panel.
   • Open (Programs) -> Programs and Features.
   • Select AVG 2012 and click the Change button.
   • The following options will be displayed during the installation process:
     • Speed up my PC - Choose this option to get a free PC TuneUp.
     • Update my AVG product - This option runs AVG update.
     • Repair installation - This option repairs or reinstalls damaged or missing AVG components.
     • Add/Remove Features - Choose this option to add or remove AVG components.
     • Uninstall - This option removes the AVG program from your PC.

   • Go to Start -> (Settings) -> Control Panel.
   • Open Add or Remove Programs.
   • Select AVG 2012 and click the Change button.
   • The following options will be displayed during the installation process:
     • Speed up my PC - Choose this option to get a free PC TuneUp.
     • Update my AVG product - This option runs AVG update.
     • Repair installation - This option repairs or reinstalls damaged or missing AVG components.
     • Add/Remove Features - Choose this option to add or remove AVG components.
     • Uninstall - This option removes the AVG program from your PC.
2. • Go to the AVG download page for the latest installation file.
     • Click the name of the AVG edition you have purchased.
     • Click the orange Download button.
     • If you are asked, please save the file to your computer. We recommend you to save the file on your Desktop.
   • Double-click the downloaded AVG installation file on your Desktop. The installation wizard will recognize that AVG is already installed.
   • The following options will be displayed during the installation process:
     • Speed up my PC - Choose this option to get a free PC TuneUp.
     • Update my AVG product - This option runs AVG update.
     • Repair installation - This option repairs or reinstalls damaged or missing AVG components.
     • Add/Remove Features - Choose this option to add or remove AVG components.
     • Uninstall - This option removes the AVG program from your PC.

To reinstall AVG, please use the Uninstall option and then install AVG 2012 again according to FAQ 4387.
